The EPA, or Environmental Protection Agency, publishes various publications designed to assist the property owner in gaining greater knowledge in the subject of Radon hazards.

For Radon Inspections, Radon is a very serious risk to the american life cycle, and is the second leading cause of lung cancer, with deaths in the US that on the average are 20,000 people per year, and it is easily remedied.

Below is a Radon Risk level map of WA by counties….CLARK COUNTY IS IN A ZONE 1. Portland has much of its northern region in a Zone 1 as well, much of it is a Zone 2. Please refer to the map to see what your Radon risk levels may be at location wise. Remember, Radon is a spotty thing and can vary from house to house and is determined (Usually) by how rocky the soil is underneath. Even sandy soils can have radon since they could have granite deep underneath. The only way to know for sure is to have the house tested because many home allow more gas in than others so don’t go by what your neighbors levels are.

RADON!…

RADON IS THE SECOND LEADING CAUSE OF LUNG CANCER….

BUT IT IS EASILY REMIDIATED….

Radon is a odorless, tasteless heavier than air gas that seeps through, even concrete.

It is emitted by typical earth & sub surface rock, and high enough concentrations in the air, on a sustained level, cause the health problems mentioned. We would like to emphasize the extreme importance in knowing the radon levels you live with, and if they are too high, mitigate them. Your & your families very health depends on it.
